About Mx_Spot
Mx_Spot is a full-featured app for creating film or TV music Spotting Notes and Master Cue Lists.
Requirements: Macintosh (either Intel or Apple Silicon) running macOS 12.4 (Monterey) or later.
Mx_Spot features:
Lock to Video
Timecode addresses can be logged with one mouse click or tap on the Enter key. Option-clicking anywhere in the spotting notes will move the playback cursor to the cue's start time, minus an optional preroll.
Conform Functions
When a picture edit occurs, fixing just one timing can move all relevant timings to their new correct locations. An optional "anchor" timing, usually a cut, can be used to facilitate this function.
Project Management
Tasks can be created, and a team can be assembled. Team members can be assigned tasks and due dates, and the data can be exported to a personal calendar.
iCloud File Sharing
Mx_Spot now allows collaboration using iCloud file sharing, which eliminates the confusion caused by multiple file versions.
Export Data to Standard Cue Sheets
Cue data can be exported as a CSV file which can be opened in Excel, and then inserted into the standard Excel Cue Sheet format provided by Performance Rights Organizations.
Instrumentation
Instruments and sections for the entire project are listed, and up to four session setups can be created, showing who's playing on each cue, and the cue recording order for each session setup. Session setups can be exported as a CSV file, and opened in any spreadsheet.
MIDI file export
Individual cues are exported as MIDI files, containing that cue's in and out timings (as well as an optional "anchor" timing). Also, a master MIDI file for the entire project is exported, containing all timings.
Export/Import To/From Spreadsheets
Important Spotting and Task data can be exported as a CSV file and opened in any spreadsheet app. CSV files exported by the spreadsheet app can be imported back into Mx_Spot.
Color Coding
Cues are coded in 4 colors, according to whether they are underscore or source, and composed or tracked.

The download will consist of a zipped folder containing the Mx_Spot installer package, which includes a Documentation pdf. Mx_Spot can run fully enabled on a free 15 day trial before an activation license must be purchased.
